You Must Use The Right Key Words To Succeed In The Manchester SEO Game

Know what words your customers will use when searching.
You might know what your customers search for. If not, find out. Is it a description of “pants” or “jeans?” One may be searched more often than the other, but why not target both? How about “executive gifts?” Maybe “desk accessories” will broaden your web site marketing strategy.

Ask all kinds of people. Get advice from people in all walks of life including management, employees, customers, vendors, friends and family on how they would search for effective search engine positioning keywords. Ask them how they would search for different products and services. It’s really not about what you think they would search for, its about what they think. Believe me, they can many times be two totally different things.

Once you have successfully harvested a meaningful keyword list, remove any keywords that are too targeted or not to specific. Also remember that keyword placement is important. Try to put as many keywords as possible in the beginning paragraphs, and of course the title line.

The higher the value of the keyword the more competition you will have. Every Manchester SEO utilizes tools similar to the Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool and also know the value of a keyword. The lower the value of the keyword the less competition we will have.

We don’t want to aim to low but we also don’t want to aim to high. We need to find a middle ground. For you that may be a keyword with a value of no less than 1000 and no more than 10,000. It will be up to you to determine what you deem reasonable.

Also, the keywords should appear regularly throughout the opening Web page. It is especially important that they appear frequently in the opening paragraphs.
However, resist the temptation to overuse keywords. The search engines can spot it and will reduce your page rankings. Tools are available to help with optimal keyword density. However, avoid software that writes the site’s pages. Search engines can sniff these out, too.

A good rule of thumb is: Never sacrifice quality of content for keyword placement. This will affect your page ranking. Most importantly, your site won’t appeal to visitors. For a FREE EBOOK detailing the fastest way to the top of the search engine, visit:

If you are like most internet marketing entrepreneurs these days, you are taking full advantage of advertising with the major search engines to increase the amount of traffic coming to your site. After all, even if you have the greatest product around, the best website layout and design going – if you dont have traffic coming to your site–its just a pretty site. Getting traffic to your site has to be a high priority to be successful on the internet. Advertising campaigns on the major search engines is a major strategy and technique of getting that traffic to your site.

So one youve made that decision, you are quickly faced with the next challenge. It simply not as easy as it might sound. Sure, if you have the money, you can immediately get millions of hits coming to your site. Getting targeted traffic quickly becomes your next big challenge. After all, the secret to this type of advertising is reducing your cost-per-click (CPC) and maximizing (increasing) your overall return-on-investment (ROI).

The best technique to achieve this is proper application of keyword matching options. There are four different methods of making sure your ad campaign is targeted to your intended audience and potential clients. These are: broad match, phrase match, exact match, and negative keyword matching. A general description of each is as follows:

Broad Match: As a starting place, broach matching is the default option for most of the search engines (such as Google, Yahoo, etc). When you include a general keyword or keyword phrase in your keyword list your ads will appear and return several variations of the search term. For example if a users query contained baseball cap, the ads would return the words baseball and cap, in any order, and possibly other terms. The ads will also automatically show up for expanded matches (including plural variations of the terms). Because broad matches are sometimes less targeted than exact or phrase matches, you should create keyword phrases containing at least two descriptive words each. You can also try the keyword tool and the other three matching options to further refine your targeting. Finally, keep in mind that other advertisers may have bid for the same broad-matched keyword combinations that trigger your ads, increasing your actual CPC amounts. Using exact, phrase, or negative matches can help you keep your costs low. Phrase Match – If you enter your keyword in quotation marks, as in “baseball cap,” your ad will appear when a user searches on the phrase baseball cap, in this order, and possibly with other terms in the query. For example, your ad will appear for the query fitted baseball cap but not for caps for baseball. Phrase matching is more targeted than broad matching, but slightly more flexible than exact matching. To ensure your ads are as targeted as they can be, you may want to include at least two descriptive words in your keyword phrases.

Exact Match – If you surround your keywords in brackets-such as [baseball cap]-your ads will appear when users search for the specific phrase baseball cap, in this order, and without any other terms in the query. For example, your ad won’t show for the query fitted baseball cap. Exact matching is the most targeted option. Although you won’t receive as many impressions with exact matching, you’ll likely enjoy the most clicks, because users searching for terms in this manner typically want precisely what your business has to offer.

Negative Keyword – If your keyword is baseball cap and you add the negative keyword -fitted, your ad will not appear when a user searches on fitted baseball cap. You can apply this option for a keyword at both the Ad Group and campaign level.

And if you think about it – it is a win/win situation for you and the potential clients who are not being taken by the search engines to sites that are unrelated to what they were searching for in the first place. Since you gain no benefit from paying for clicks by internet searchers that are not interested in your products/services —it becomes an ideal situation for both you and your potential clients. Being aware of and properly applying these simple techniques will ensure that you get the greatest bang for your advertising buck, while increasing your targeted traffic.

To learn more about the benefits of keyword matching options, look for the frequently asked question section of the search engine application you are using.

Google Adwords presents you with a never-seen-before opportunity to make so much money off the internet that it’s unreal… or so your favourite guru would tell you.

Have you ever wondered why some people can get rich off Adwords, and yet many seem to sit there, never able to convert a single sale?

The crazy thing about this is that there is so much info out there, so many people telling you how to run your campaigns… and yet the vast majority of online marketers are still broke.

Well, I use to be part of the 90% that got nowhere, until I made a few strategic adjustments and now I am making a very good living promoting affiliate products via the site.

My strategy is very different to the one that most gurus imply. You see, all this talk of click thru rate and quality score algorithms and various other technical issues masks the basic fact of promotion: the niche / product / the sales letter you are promoting is king. It doesn’t matter how many keywords you add to your list, if you get the product wrong, everything else will flop. Since you don’t know which products work and which don’t you should expect to experiment quite a bit.

Instead of focusing on the details of my Adwords campaigns, I simply launch very many products across multiple niches.

Each niche takes me about an hour to locate, and an hour to setup a simple “no frills” Adwords campaign. Then, pretty soon, I know if the product I am promoting will sink or swim. Sounds simple, sounds profitable, but are you doing it?

I simply rinse and repeat, and every four or five attempts I run into a profitable niche and focus on it, setting up more Adwords campaigns within the niche.

When I find a profitable niche, I spend time on my Adwords campaign, but only then. This method allows me to go through about 10-20 niches and micro-niches per month. And every so often I come across a little gold mine that everyone else has overlooked because they were too focused on beefing up their keyword list or whatever.

Throwing stuff out there and constant experimentation is the way to make money from adwords

Never forget that it all comes down to the product (sales letter) that you are promoting, and you don’t know which product works unless you try. So try simply throwing stuff out there and not being so anal when you first setup your campaigns.

You will be very surprised at the results, and nine times out of ten you will be making money with Adwords within a few days

As we all know, correct targeted keywords bring us traffic to our websites. Many Internet Marketers follow a routine when creating new keyword based web pages.

It’s quite simple:

First, pick a subject you’d like your keyword to be based on. To do this, there are several software programs available which can help you brainstorm a subject for your new website.

Second, Use a Keyword Research Tool to collect as many relevant keywords for your theme/subject. There are numerous software applications which help you collect keywords. Some famous ones are:

Keyword Discovery
Wordtracker
Keywords Analyzer
Keyword Locator
Keyword Elite
Googles own keyword suggestion tool
Overtures Keyword Research Tool

These software programs help you research, filter and collect thousands of keywords for your niche.

You need to make sure there are enough searches for your keyword to justify making a web page based on that keyword.

Once the keywords are collected, its imperative to clean your list and make it worthy of making web pages based on the keywords you collected in the previous step.

Keyword Controller is a new software program which cleans and manipulates you keyword list ready for generating many pages for your new website. It removes all characters which are not needed such as !&*.)(-: and a lot more

Once the keywords have been cleaned, its time to use those keywords to make appropriate web pages. The page url should include the same keyword which it is targeting. Keyword Controller helps you do that also.

Once you site is uploaded to your web host, its time to submit your sitemap (also generated by Keyword Controller) to Google and get your sitemap indexed and listed in the search engines.

Generally speaking, it takes between 2 days and 2 months to get your site indexed in the search engine listings.

Once your site is listed, you should start seeing a steady stream of visitors to your websites for keywords which have been cleaned and targeted properly.

Good Luck!

One of your most important marketing assets is your Keyword List. But are you giving your Keyword List the attention it deserves? Is your Keyword List getting a little shaggy around the edges? Are your keywords becoming old and out of date? Is your Keyword List not behaving at its best, possibly due to neglect?

To properly care for your Keyword List you need to understand its different needs and functions. We can divide the list into several broad categories.

1) Master Keyword List this list has all the keywords that you can come up with for your particular need. All other lists are taken from this Master List.

2) Pay-Per-Click List this is a subset of the Master List and will vary depending on how you are using PPC and which search engines you are buying positions in.

3) Tag List this subset of the Master List helps you fill in those Meta Tag fields. Although many search engines are not currently paying much attention to Meta Tags, that could change at any time and the search engines will not let us know if or when they begin watching Meta Tags again. So the safe bet is to still keep these tags properly populated.

4) Web Site List this is another subset of the Master List and is more targeted than the PPC list. This list also helps you write powerful content on your site. And dont forget to refer to this list when setting up the Alt tags for your images (you are using Alt tags arent you?).

5) Email List Are you using keywords in your email? You should be. Keywords are not only used to help people find your site in search engines, but they are words people are actively searching for. Your marketing should be addressing their needs, and your keyword list shows you what they are looking for. Just like creating copy on a web page, use the keyword list to target your email campaigns as well.

So how do you go about creating the Master Keyword list? You first have to decide what you need from your keywords. Most likely you will have a product or service that will dictate the broad category for the list. As an example I will use Nikon Camera as my starting point. Maybe I have a site that specializes in information about Nikons, or I have a store that sells Nikon Cameras, or maybe I sell software that would complement a Nikon Camera. These questions and more will begin to focus your keyword search.

Start by building a basic list using this approach, you dont need to capitalize, leave everything lowercase.

nikon, nikon camera, nikon information, nikon sales, nikon software

Put down the basic keywords that spring into your head when thinking about your subject. This does not need to be an exhaustive list, just a starting point.

We now need to expand on this list by using tools freely available on the internet. My personal favorite is on Overture.com in their Resource Center. They have a valuable little tool called the Keyword Selector Tool. This tool will give you a list of keyword searches on Overture over a one month period. Simply type in your keyword and hit the button. You will get a list of keywords including the keyword you typed in and the number of searches performed on the keyword.

A search for Nikon came back with 100 keyword possibilities. Depending on your original keyword search you may have to clean this list up a bit before using it. For instance one of the keywords was Nikon rifle scopes, not what I need so I will delete that one. I usually copy the information from this web page and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet where I can manipulate it as I like. Each month you may get a different set of keywords on Overture, so dont just do this one time and forget it. Keep on checking back to add more keywords to your list.

Another valuable tool is over on Google. (https://adwords.google.com/select/main?cmd=KeywordSandbox)
You can also find this tool in the Tools section of Google Adwords. This is used like the Overture tool, simply type in your keyword and click on Get More Keywords. This search gave me 225 possible keywords, many of which I will clean out. A nice feature of the Adwords tool is that it allows you to download the list as a CSV file for use in Excel or another program.

There are many other sources for keyword lists. A good place to start is on Search Engine Watch at http://searchenginewatch.com/facts/article.php/2156041

Dont forget specialized sites like eBay. They have a banner ad program named eBay Keywords where you can find suggestions for keywords to use with banner ads on eBay. http://ebay.admarketplace.net

And finally pay attention to the log files for your web site. You will have a list of searches people used to find your site. This is a very targeted list of keywords that were actually successful in driving traffic to your site.

Now that you have a huge list of keywords you are ready to create your Master Keyword List. Place all these keywords into a spreadsheet and clean out the inappropriate keywords (like Nikon Binoculars). Then arrange in order from most relevant to least relevant.

You need to weed this Master List down for your PPC campaign. You may find that the keywords near the top of your list are the most expensive and that the ones in the middle may have a better cost to sales ratio. But the more keywords you can use on PPC, the broader your exposure.

The top 25 should work well for your Meta Tag list. Depending on your needs you may need to remove duplicate words. Try to limit any individual word to 5 uses or less (example: dont use nikon more than 5 times).

The top 10 keywords are your sales words for your web site and email campaigns since these are the most tightly focused keywords in the list.

Dont forget that the needs of your list will be changing as the market place shifts. Every month or so do a new search for keywords to keep your keyword list up to date. Trim out the words that are either no longer appropriate or effective. Be sure to keep an eye on your log files. Keep your sub-lists current. And give your Keyword List the care and attention it needs to live a long and active life.

And finally, if only 4 people purchase some training off of my site due to the keywords in this article I can finally get that Nikon Camera that I have been wanting.

Correct Keywords Placement Is Easier To Attain Than You Think

Many businesses go through all kinds of steps before hiring a search engine optimization professional. Unfortunately, they often then sabotage that person from the outset.

Get The Most Out Of Your Liverpool SEO Professional

As a person providing Liverpool SEO services, I can tell you there is one area that is almost always a point of conflict with clients. This area has to do with communication, particularly from the client to the person or business handling the Liverpool SEO campaign.

Many businesses sabotage their Liverpool SEO professional right from the start of the game. It all has to do with knowledge. A Liverpool SEO professional is very knowledgeable about the search engine ranking process. He or she can tell you oodles of information about algorithms, back links, inbound links, keyword density and other issues you probably are not particularly interested in. On the other hand, it is a mistake to assume your Liverpool SEO wizard is knowledgeable about your product or service area.

Any business has a secret bit of crucial knowledge locked away in the minds of a few individuals high up in the company. This knowledge is protected with great effort since it is deemed to be the key to success for the business. Although each business is different, this nugget usually has to do with why prospects purchase the product or service being offered by the business. If you do not provide this information to your Liverpool SEO professional, problems will arise.

Consider the following situation. A Liverpool SEO firm is retained by a client selling products. The Liverpool SEO rep asks all kinds of questions about the typical customer for the business, product lines and so on. From this, a keyword list is developed and the client is asked to review it and make any comments about any additions they can think of. The business reports no changes. A year down the line, the client has top rankings on dozens of high traffic keywords on Google, Yahoo and MSN, but sales are less than expected.

At this point, there is usually a serious meeting with the players to try to figure out what is going on. During the meeting, some little tidbit is mentioned that makes the Liverpool SEO professional groan. The tidbit is inevitably internal business information regarding why prospects purchase from the business.

In our example above, the business sold products in the active lifestyle industry. Top rankings were obtained on all the relevant subjects. Sales were crap. During the serious, serious meeting, it was leaked that 8 out of 10 purchasers asked for the product to be gift wrapped! ARRRRRGGGG! The Liverpool SEO campaign was tailored to people interested in active lifestyles, not people that were looking to buy gifts for such people. Our sales were terrible because the listings were appearing in front of the wrong audience!

Yes, this really happened. Fortunately, keyword modifications were made and the site rebounded in the rankings after a few months. Whereas the site previously converted at 1 in 1,000, it now converts at 1 in 30. The next meeting was much more informal. In fact, there were plenty of beverages and I took the next day off.

If you are going to retain someone to handle your Liverpool SEO efforts, or any marketing for you, do not hold back information. Understanding who and why people buy is a pivotal part of developing a keyword list for a Liverpool SEO campaign.
