A Page Rank is a number Google gives to a web page that represents how important Google thinks the page is on the web. When one page links to another, Google considers it to be effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes there are for a page across the whole web, the more important that page must be. But thats quite an assumption, isnt it? The importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself really is, meaning in Google calculations a page’s importance comes from the votes cast for it. These votes are then taken into account when the page is ranked.

As a general rule of thumb, Google Page Ranks along with Alexa ratings are the best indicators of how well your Leeds SEO work has been going. Granted, the ranking that you appear in on the results for your most important key words is the real indicator, but a strong Google Page Rank will help to boost this position substantially. The more links that you have pointing at your site, the better off you are. Thats a basic rule that will apply throughout your Leeds SEO operations.

These sorts of separations are interesting and can contribute to a great deal of change and motion in page ranks. The most important thing to keep in mind is that eventually Google will get you into your proper place. Generally, if you behave, you will not be thrown down for long by the odd activity that can occur when Google is in the process of updating its index for your server (or for the servers of your favorite link partners.

The best way to increase your page rank is to contact people with relevant and complementary content (that is, content that does not compete with your own but that enhances it). These links are most likely to last and they will not only increase your Google Page Rank, but they will also provide relevant hits via the links themselves.

How is PageRank Calculated? Google calculates the PageRank PR of all pages it indexes, taking into account all the links to and from each site. When a page votes for other pages by linking to them, it shares out some of its PageRank value amongst these pages. This algorithm means that a link to your site from a page with PR4 (i.e. a Page Rank of 4) and five outbound links would be worth more than a link from a page with PR8 and a hundred outbound links. Its not just the Page Rank of the page thats important, but also the number of links it has.

You see, the time-to-live for www.google.com is only five minutes that means that Googles IP address can change every five minutes. This allows them to switch between their datacenters regularly, spreading the search load between them intelligently and routing around any damage. If you constantly entered the same datacenter with every search that you placed it would almost certainly fry within twenty four hours. Considering the number of users on Google each and every day, it is surprising that ten thousand servers is enough. A server can only handle so much traffic in a day and Google insures that it can hold more than any other service on the internet.

The datacenters updating their indexes at different times causes Google to do its dance. Unless youre looking for your websites ranking, youd never notice this as your site is normally available at all times. The unfortunate bit is that often times you will lose your page ranking for a short period of time or your site will seem to have a lower number of pages indexed by Google. If you insure that you have several hundred pages available on Google at all times you will most likely be able to provide all of your content at all times either directly or indirectly.

An appropriate linking strategy can improve the page rank for Google and the other search engines. But how can a search engine optimizer’s inbound links be spidered and indexed by Google and the other search engines?

The important part in a successful linking strategy is that pages linked to highly ranked sites are a higher value than those with fewer links. Links from serious and higher ranked sites are increasing the value of their destination, improving its position, giving a higher placement in the results list.

Similar results can be obtained using any of the search engines with the same keywords or phrases. To improve the search engine position, the most often recommended solution is to make a linking campaign.

An inbound links method is a proven solution in the high ranking attempt of almost every search engine optimizer. Some inbound links may come from the sites that had added interesting articles about the main site’s topics. If the keywords are used with a moderate frequency, keeping the articles content pleasant, attractive, and interesting; this kind of linking strategy can bring spectacular results.

But what about the reciprocal links? Are they really useful for this strategy? If a long list of reciprocal links exists, does the website have spectacular improved position on the results pages? After a few important experiments, it looks like the result is not as spectacular as the premises are.

Only a small part of the reciprocal links is considered valid by Google and the other search engines. The part applied to the page rank is not as important as the number of reciprocal links is, so this technique must be applied with measure and prudence.

Those thoughts are the results of my personal experience in a site’s ranking. I used all the Leeds SEO possibilities I knew, but using inbound links was the most powerful tool to improve my web site ranking.

Every link added is ranking the site higher than linking every page individually. If the link also contains valuable keywords for the website content, the results are more promising. A linking strategy well done for each site containing single articles listed on small sites is bringing good results.

The page rank can also be improved by designing a sitemap. It is wise to have a page that links to all others to get every page spidered and indexed. It is not difficult to create a map page and link it from the sites home page. The results will be appreciable.

To begin linking your sites with other sites, you can start by joining a linking directory. This will help increase your page rank, but you must make sure people are linking back to you. Don’t just add a bunch of links to your page and think you’re done. You have to have your link reciprocated on the other person’s site. To learn more about joining a linking directory, go to:

o http://www.MyLinkMachine.com

Article writing is also a good resource to help with your PR. By joining article directories, you can insert your link in your articles as well as the Resource Box. A great resource to submit your articles is:

If you are already familiar with submitting articles and you are looking for a faster and easier way to get them into all those directories, you may want to consider an automatic submitting software. To watch a video on how to accomplish this, go to:

Tough question, “What is Leeds SEO?”. As with pretty much all internet-related terms, concepts and notions, that of “Leeds SEO” does not have a unique definition and it is a blurry concept in most people’s mind.

Still, what is Leeds SEO? Since there is no ultimate, fully comprehensible definition for “Leeds SEO”, the only way to go is to take a look at several definitions and try to merge them in order to have the right perspective.

Wikipedia : “Search engine optimization (Leeds SEO) is a set of methodologies aimed at improving the visibility of a website in search engine listings. The term also refers to an industry of consultants that carry out optimization projects on behalf of client sites.”

Fakezilla : “The changes that are made to the content and code of a web site in order to increase its rankings in the results pages of search engines and directories. These changes may involve rewriting body copy, altering Title or Meta tags, removal of Frames or Flash content, and the seeking of incoming links.”

The Web Search Workshop : “The term used to describe the marketing technique of preparing a website to enhance its chances of being ranked in the top results of a search engine once a relevant search is undertaken. A number of factors are important when optimizing a website, including the content and structure of the website’s copy and page layout, the HTML meta-tags and the submission process.”

6am Media : “The process of improving web pages so that it ranks higher in search engine for targeted keywords with the ultimate goal of generating more revenue from the web site. There are many Leeds SEO techniques. In general, these techniques can be categorized as On-Page Optimization, On-Site Optimization, and Off-Site Optimization. There are also two schools of Leeds SEO: white hat Leeds SEO and black hat Leeds SEO. White hat Leeds SEOs are those that play by the rule (actually guidelines provided by search engines). Black hat Leeds SEOs are those that push the limit of Leeds SEOs and employ some questionable or prohibited techniques (according to the guidelines). These black hat Leeds SEO techniques are also commonly known as spam.”

Website NOVA : “acronym for search engine optimization. This is the process of making a website ’search-engine-friendly. Search engine optimization is primarily used to increase rankings in SERPs, and effective Leeds SEO can increase the potential of your website and bring in more traffic.”

Thousands more definitions are available, almost as many “Leeds SEO guru’s” you will find online (”The Guru Problem” is actually the title of another article to be published soon).
As you can see, no definition is like another, but they all tend to converge to a certain common understanding.

There are numerous techniques and tools used to achieve Leeds SEO goals, and they should NOT be included within a definition.

Since it is not correct to define a concept through its tools, here is a definition I have come up with after long deliberations. The suggestion is to define Leeds SEO as follows:

Leeds SEO = abbreviation for “Search Engine Optimization”, the process of optimizing and tuning a web site and gaining online awareness for it, in order to deliver targeted visitors and ensure high conversion rates.

When done correctly, Leeds SEO activities must:
- make search engines crawl the site;
- make search engines index the site;
- ensure a high ranking among SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) for given keywords;
- achieve a high page rank;
- drive targeted traffic;
- achieve high conversion rates among the site’s visitors.

Since nothing is definitive and ultimate in the world of Leeds SEO, I’d like to receive your feedback and comments: TeaWithEdge.com is a way to contact me and speak up about your Marketing concerns.

There are people who think that they can throw up a web page and that people will find them, and good luck too them but it wont happen. Any website that wants to make money needs to get optimized, and stay that way. Running and Leeds SEO campaign once or twice isnt enough in this market: you need to consider long-term maintenance of your Leeds SEO.

For long term Leeds SEO maintenance to be effective, you need to constantly monitor the search engines algorithms, which can change very frequently. You also need to keep track of your competitors optimizations and adapt your strategy accordingly.

Always consider your website as an investment youve put time, money and effort into it. Your investment needs to be protected, and the way to do that is Leeds SEO maintenance. This makes sure that your website is ranked high enough to bring you the traffic you need, and keeps the sales coming.

Weve compiled a list of tips to help you with your Leeds SEO maintenance. To keep good rankings, you need to pay attention to how your site is doing. A few things to remember are:

1. Check on your pages regularly and make sure theyre still listed. Your listings are the most important part of your Leeds SEO work. Whether the page is listed or not is vastly more important than what key words you have etc. After all, if you arent listed at all what good is it to optimize?

2. Monitor the listings every week or two to make sure your pages are displaying correctly and that there are no problems with your site. While your at it see whether youve risen, dropped, or remained constant as far as listings go. Odds are that you will not remain constant, if you do remain constant you should consider this a small success as you have probably risen above other pages that were formerly above you while others from below you have surpassed you.

3. Watch for trouble, and fix it quickly. Dont think it will correct itself it won’t. Any missing pages should be checked out thoroughly. Chances are that the system has run into a problem, but if you dont check it out you may very easily be wrong. Always correct any of your mistakes as your mistakes can be very costly if they are not dealt with in a timely fashion.

4. Resubmit your site if you make major changes, but not for anything smaller. The most important time to resubmit your site is if you have recently changed your titles. Titles are very important in Leeds SEO and can deliver you with a completely new set of quality key words.

5. Create monthly ranking reports on your site, to see if any changes need to be made.

6. Keep building your link popularity.

7. Keep submitting your site to the big directories, as spiders use these as a starting point.

8. Watch your competitors and the methods they use. If they start trying to cheat, report them straightaway it gets them out of your way.

9. Set goals for yourself. Write out an Leeds SEO maintenance plan, and if things change then make sure to set new goals and stick with them.

10. Stay up to date on the latest Leeds SEO information.

11. Check your sites performance if youre not monitoring your traffic, find a tool to do it now.

12. Maintain a solid plan for dealing with your sites growth. Dont panic if you see a blip.

As with any buisness or marketing campaign it requires work, Leeds SEO is no different. So sit down and make a plan. and start to make your Leeds SEO campaigns work and work consistantly.

I have been to many forums and found that people like to do their own Leeds SEO initially and then give up later after they do not find reasonable results. I would suggest that they should keep on trying, until they really feel that their sales is directly dependent on their ranking in the search engines.
I have high respect for all the people who have achieved success using in-house/personal Leeds SEO and still are able to maintain there top spot for highly competitive keywords like digital camera software or photo software. The world of Leeds SEO has changed rapidly and so have the techniques. Now lets start with main subject that is “Making money online with Leeds SEO”.
The first well-known fact:

Higher the traffic better the sales
It is a proven fact that among the billions of pages that are searched by search engines only a few make it to the top and these top 30 websites make the most business. Type in digital camera software for instance and you will understand what I mean. Do you remember how many times have you gone beyond the 3-4th page of your search page results? I would expect the same behavior from 99.9% of the Internet surfers as no one has the time to go beyond the top 30 listed pages. I am exaggerating when I say top 30 because mostly the top 10 get 75% of the hits. So if you are not at the top you are losing on a huge chunk of sales, unless you are advertising locally and are limited to a local business.

Google adwords is worth a mention at this point as millions use them and know their importance. The users of google adwords know that they will get listed at the top page (sponsored listing) for the specified keywords. However, they do not estimate the sales that they will make. They can easily do it in a month and then change their bid amount to be paying less in advertising on google. Being listed in the top page does not mean that you will end up with guaranteed sales. You need to have a real good sales page that will make the “buyer” feel the need to buy it. Remember it is all about making him feel that he needs it.

Search engine optimization will propel your page to the top 10 without having to pay for the adwords campaign that is a pay per click campaign and you might end up paying far more than your sales. Having said this if you choose the niche keywords for your campaign and have a good sales copy you are bound to make a lot out of the campaign. Out of thousands who click to your page at least 50 should buy your product.

The million-dollar question
How will you benefit from Leeds SEO? How much should you spend?
If you have a good product and at a reasonable price compared to competition and feel that you can garner enough sales once your website receives traffic Leeds SEO will benefit you by providing you with exposure for the chosen keywords ( a proper keyword analysis for searches per month for that chosen keyword) will be conducted by the Leeds SEO expert. Depending on the competition you have for those keywords the plan will be chalked out by him. Sometimes only on-page Leeds SEO may take you to the top however, nowadays Leeds SEO has become a popular career with many top websites spending huge amounts on Leeds SEO to be listed in the top.

Your expense should depend on how much sale you are bound to make. A proper estimation of this can be drawn after the first month that you are listed in the top 10. Your expense can range from any where between $250-$2500 depending on the competition you face.

Be careful while choosing an Leeds SEO firm or person as they can use spammed techniques that can get you banned from search engines.

How I Got My Web Site To PR 5 In 3 Months

Getting a new web site page ranked and indexed are two things everyone should take into account. With all the competing web sites out there the importance of this becomes a top priorty so that you can get free traffic and thus make money online. I started my Internet home business venture some 3 months ago and I didn’t have a clue as to how I would get visitors. It quickly became apparent that in order to get visitors for free that I would have to take certain steps. The following is what I did to get my site indexed and page ranked in 3 months, maybe my timing was right for the quarterly page rank by google but I did have to do some work to get there.

1. First off in order to get indexed quickly I suggest you put in a tiny classified ad at CraigsList.com, the site is a PR 8 and having a link to your site will get the search engines crawling all over yours. Make sure to only put one ad in and not to spam them because they will close your account. Also make sure to keep an eye on it, sometimes the administration cancels it or it expires.

2. Next I read an e-book call Leeds SEO Made Easy by Brad Callen(You can get a FREE copy on my web site listed below). Brad has some wonderful ideas and methods to get to the top of the search engines. I then implemented his ideas and methods.

3. Getting one way links back to your web site is key in getting Page Ranked.

   a) Article submission will get you one way links and having lots of them will get your site PRed. So how do you get a link to your site? Well in each article that is submitted you are allowed to put an “About the Author Box”, this is where you put your link to your site. Now some of you might find this very time consumming. Well so did I. What I did is got my articles ghost written from JustArticles.com and had them submitted to over 24,000+ publishers at Isnare.com, for about $70.00 US your can get 5 450-600 word ghost written articles from JustArticles.com and 5 distribution credits from Isnare.com which will distribute those 5 articles to the 24,000+ publishers. Now if you don’t want to spend the $70.00 on the articles and distribution you CAN do it for FREE. You can of course write your own articles and get article submission software from my website for FREE. But if you do have the money I suggest you do it this way because it is very time consumming. Its very important that you don’t submit more than one per week because getting too many links all at once will make the search engines unhappy. Continue to submit one per week for 3 months.

   b) Submitting your web site to one way link directories is the other method I used. Again this is time consuming so I bought a piece of software that does this for me. You still have to do it by hand but all the directories are already preloaded in the software. Go here for a copy of the software I’m using: http://www.directorysubmitter.com/
It costs about $97.00 for the software but I’m sure that you will think its money well spent after you see results. If you don’t have the money to do this then I guess you’ll have to do it the hard way and find the directories and submit by hand.

   c) Joining a well known forum is the last thing I did to get one way links to my site. You see most forums have what’s called a sig file. A sig file is a perminent signature to every post you make at the forum. I put in a link to my web site and that’s it. The only thing left to do is post topics or reply to ones already made. Again make sure you don’t spam the forum you join, this will only get your account closed. Make sure you have a relevant topic or reply and you will have no problems.

By implementing these steps I achieved a Page Rank of 5 in 3 months, keep in mind that the search engines are always changing and finding new ways to rank pages. One thing I think will always be important is the amount of one way links back to your web site. I hope these methods will help you achieve your goals and make you money online, I know they have helped my Internet home business immensely.

Google Sitemaps :: Are They Or Aren’t They Lucrative Leeds SEO Tools?

Google has had a feature out for some time which allows webmasters to create a sitemap file to help Google’s crawlers find and index content.

It sounds like a great idea. After all, it’s much easier to feed the crawler the content then hope it finds it on it’s own.

But is a Google sitemap worthwhile? Is it even necessary?

When the Google Sitemap program first started my thought was That’s kinda cool but what’s the real benefit?

So, I thought I’d try it out and submit sitemaps for a few sites that I own.

When Google Sitemaps first came out it was very difficult to figure out what all the entries meant as well as how to actually create the sitemap.

Sure, it was XML based, and I could plainly see what they expected but when you have a large site, how do you go about creating this?

Then Google came out with http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/sitemap-generator.html, a sitemap generator which is a program intended to help you create a sitemap for your site. This does help speed up the process but unless you are a developer it is a little difficult to implement.

Also, you need access to your server to run the script required to generate the sitemap. If you are unsure you should check with your web host to see if you have terminal access to execute Python scripts.

Personally, I’ve never tried the Google Sitemapper tool but I have used others. For example, on my personal blog which uses Moveable Type, I found a blog post which shows How to build a Movable Type Google sitemap template http://www.niallkennedy.com/blog/archives/2005/06/google_sitemaps.html. And I’ve used Xenu and an Excel spreadsheet http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=199253 which works great as well.

Now that the sitemap creation is covered, let’s get into the question at hand. Is a Google sitemap really worth the effort?

A few months ago I would have said no, but lately Google has been adding features that make me think otherwise.

For example, if you’ve gone through the verification process (which is really just placing a blank HTML file on the site and having Google find it) and ensured your 404 errors are properly configured you can get access to a wealth of additional intel.

One such feature is the Top Search Queries. This tells you which queries were used when your pages appeared in the search results but may not have been clicked on.

In other words, these are actual searcher queries that were performed on Google where your site may have appeared but not had click-through’s.

From a keyword research point of view, this is a huge advantage to you. By monitoring your sitemap stats you can easily see some of the terms people are using and perhaps determine what you need to do to rank higher for those terms so you too can get the clicks that your competitors are receiving.

If you don’t have ready access to log analysis or other stats, the Google sitemap can also tell you what terms actually drove traffic to your site.

In other words, these were searches performed on Google that actually generated clicks for your site.

There’s also a wealth of other information. For example, “Crawl Stats” shows you how Googlebot sees your site, errors generated by it, and even a PageRank distribution chart detailing how well PageRank is distributed.

So, if you are like me and wondering if a Google sitemap is worth it I’d say yes, it is. The information provided, while mostly technical, can help you troubleshoot problems as well as provide ideas to help you improve your positioning.

Google, being the largest and most used search engine and is extremely important to optimize your website for. As a matter of fact, if you optimize your website just for Google youd find your rankings in Yahoo! and MSN will jump up higher than your ranking in Google. Ive optimized many websites that show up in at least the top 20 listings in Google and found that in each case they ranked higher in Yahoo! and MSN usually in the top 3 positions with most in the number one spots.

Most everyone agrees that with Google content is king. So writing good copy with just the right amount of keyword phrases, for keyword density is important. And natural anchor text links is second to the throne, which takes lots of work and proper timing to do properly.

Third in line are keyword phrases (notice I said phrase because single keywords are almost impossible to optimize for), which need to be researched to find the right phrase for you and not used to often in the content/text to get the right density. Used to often and youll hurt your ranking.

Fourth in line are the Meta Description Tag which when used properly can actually bring visitors to your website who wouldnt normally come there. Of course there are several other factors involved with getting that elusive number one spot.

But what most everyone often overlooks is what I call the fifth element which Google uses to determine their ranking of a website and that’s the domain name.

People, even Leeds SEO companies, dont either know the importance of the domain name to Google or take the time to chose the proper name for the website. Most just use their company name or what they conceder a “Cool” name for their websites. Now, unless your company is well known or at least well known in its field, using a basically unknown company name is pointless. Even more pointless is the “Cool” name.

The entire reason you optimize your website is to get visitors from search engines, so why not use all the tools available to get the best ranking possible for your website.

Use your domain name as one of those tools. Instead of your company name or the “Cool” one, use a keyword phrase, one that describes your product or service. Take your time in choosing the proper name. Make sure that it will work best for your website. If you not sure ask your friends and relatives what keywords they would use to find your product or services on the Internet. You might be surprised at what they would use.

You have the keyword phrase that you know will work. But before you jump online and get that domain name there are a couple of things you may still need to do.

Let’s say you’re the owner of Mike’s Bikes and you specialize in Colorado Mountain Bikes so you figure to kill two birds with one stone and use the domain name mikescoloradomountainbikes.com to keep your name in it along with using the keyword phrase. Now this might make sense to you but youre not Google. You’re not going to like it but you need to drop the mikes out of the name because it’s dead weight.

So now you’ve got coloradomountainbikes.com but wait before you burn up the keyboard use Colorado-mountain-bikes.com instead. Why? Because Google sees this as three different words and would see coloradomountainbikes.com as a single word. When people are doing a search they will not be using coloradomountainbikes, they are going to use Colorado mountain bikes. The bonus is that your domain name now becomes a keyword phrase used by Google when it performs a search.

With all the talk about search engines and relevancy, I came up with some interesting thoughts that I wanted share about where I believe the search engines are heading concerning basic Search Engine Optimization (Leeds SEO).

Trying to stay ahead of the search engines, which is nearly impossible, Ive been trying to look to the future of Leeds SEO while creating web pages following the guidelines of the major search engines.

One of the largest problems the major search engines are dealing with is Search Engine Spam, Adsense Spam, and Spammy Pages such as keyword stuffing to gain higher rankings. In guidelines from Google, they mention write your pages for the users, not for the search engines. This statement alone, is a little prediction of the future of what is coming. And in order to stay ahead of the curve with some long term planning, I am suggesting we should take this to heart, and stop using the older Leeds SEO methods that eventually will hurt us.

Websites are being currently being penalized and dropped from years of top rankings for not adapting to the search engines guidelines and continuing to use Leeds SEO methods of years ago.

In thinking in terms of long-term success to maintain high rankings for each of the major search engines, through about as much research as you do online, I have came up with a few guidelines to the basic Leeds SEO ideas for the future.

One of the most important aspect for the search engines, and what I have seen and predict will have more importance is website copywriting. Well this is nothing new, we all know website copywriting is important, may as high at 45% of our copywriting contributes to our page rank. This will always remain important, and I believe will become even more important to high as 85% of what our website says will contribute to our page ranking in the future, as a shift from the search engine giving higher ranking from a technical aspect to more of a informational or relevancy aspect.

Eliminating some of the currently used technical aspects may maintain higher ranking in the coming future. Let me explain some of the commonly abused technical Leeds SEO habits currently, that I believe is headed toward extinction.

        a. Keyword Meta tags. This tag alone is open to elimination due to the common abuse methods such as keyword stuffing. Most major search engines generally ignore this tagline currently.

        b. ALT tags are another tagline that is just in the beginning stages of being eliminated. Some search engines have been experimenting with ignoring ALT tags and have found out that pages indexed without ALT tags are returning higher relevancy results. Again like the Meta tags, ALT tags have been abused to such from as keyword stuff.

        c. The two Meta tags that will gain in importance will be the Title tag and Description tag. A title and description taglines accurately representing a well written website copy write will enhance your pages relevancy.

I am not suggesting that today that we immediately stop using the successful technical Leeds SEO currently in place, but the gradual elimination of this technique as the search engines stop using each method. Personally, I no longer include the Keyword Meta taglines on my web pages, and will continue to remove useless html as that become irrelevant.

In summary, my opinion is that future Leeds SEO standards will be more focused on good copywriting and less on technical aspects such as Meta taglines, Alt taglines, Headings to gain a higher page rank, or should I say higher relevancy.

Did you ever wonder about making your site more appealing to the Search Engines? Did you get scared off by the high fees that Leeds SEO specialists charge for their services? If you answered yes to each of these questions, then I have some good news for you. There are only a few very effective ways to get good search engine rankings. The techniques are not very hard to learn and only really require time and patience on your part. Lets get started.

Domain Name
The trick here is to register a domain name your customers can remember and the search engines think is relevant. Use words in your domain name that describe your product or service. For example, dont call your site www.derekspage.com if you sell pink widgets. You would be better off calling your site www.bestpinkwidgets.com.

Title Tag
Search Engines value the contents of the Title Tag when ranking your site for keywords. Put your most important keywords in your title tags, using singular and plural versions of each word. Make your tags different and specific for each page on your site. For example, “Pink Widgets and Pink Widget Support”. The Title Tag should be a short logical description of your web page.

Header Tags
The description Meta tag is still used by many (not Google) search engines and is often used for displaying a short description of your website. Use about 20 to 30 words to describe your site and be as comprehensive as possible in the small space allowed. Try using your important keywords within the description tag. The keyword Meta tag is rarely used and should not be considered very important. Just put your important keywords in this space and move on to more important optimization issues.

Image ALT Tags
The ALT tag is used for a very short description of an image or graphic file, and is displayed when your mouse pointer hovers above a graphic. Using your important keywords in the image description has been shown to have a small effect with some search engines.

Keyword density
Different search engines have their own preferences as to how many times a keyword phrase can appear on a given web page in order to demonstrate the importance of that keyword phrase. You should try and make sure that your important keywords have a 5 to 8 percent density in your site. If you keywords have higher than 10 percent density, it may be considered as keyword spamming or stuffing. (This will hurt your search engine rankings dramatically) Use the H1 and H2 heading tags to elevate your important keywords within your site. The keywords contained in these tags are considered slightly more important by search engines.

Inbound Links
Getting inbound links should be considered your most important Leeds SEO strategy. Search Engines will rank your site based on the number and quality of inbound links to your site. Links from other highly ranked sites are more valuable and will increase your sites ranking. Contacting other website owners and asking them to exchange links with you is a good strategy. The sites linking to you should not be your competitors, but should be related to your site. For example, a bike repair shop would benefit by exchanging links with a bike trail site. Page Rank is a good indication of how valuable a site would be as a link exchange partner. Yahoo and Google each have a page ranking system. When arranging a link exchange, make sure that your important keywords are included in the anchor text. Search engines use anchor text when they try to figure out the relevance and importance of your web pages.
