Every few months Google updates the algorithm it uses to rank websites in its index. Some of these updates are more significant than others, but because of Googles market leading position these updates can be extremely significant to many online businesses.

Internet Marketers assign names to these updates much the same way the weather service names hurricanes. Last October it was Jagger, before that we had the infamous Florida Update in late 2003, and Austin in early 2004.

Each update is designed to improve search results by either doing a better job of identifying high-quality content on the Internet, or by doing a better job of suppressing low-quality content.

Over the last two or three weeks, many website owners have seen traffic to their sites from Google fluctuate quite a bit. This is normal for algorithm updates as the index is updated on one data center, a site will change positions. The fluctuations occur because the index in the new data center is not completely built, and therefore a site may be placed artificially high or low until all the data is brought into equilibrium.

A few days ago, Google completed a major overhaul of its algorithm this one dubbed BigDaddy and in the world of search engine updates its a category 5 hurricane; well, sort of.

You see, after all the turmoil of the past three weeks or so, most marketers are probably seeing their websites ranked more or less where they were about a month ago. This is unusual. Usually major algorithm changes result in significant changes in site rankings for virtually all sites on the Internet. Both the Florida and Jagger updates changed the landscape of Googles Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) dramatically.

So, Whats the Big Deal About BigDaddy?

At first glance, the BigDaddy update seems to be much ado about nothing. However, there are some welcome changes that have been included in this update that should make Google a much friendlier place for those of us who build valuable content-rich websites.

* Increasing size and scope of the index One of the purposes of this latest update was to increase the size of the index itself. This will allow Google to dig deeper into your site and catalog even more of your content (HTML, JavaScripts, Flash, etc).
* URL Canonicalization Yes, its a scary word, but its actually quite simple. Essentially, canonicalization is determining which URL is the most appropriate for a given page. For example, the following URLs are all valid ways of reaching the homepage of SomeWebsite.com:
By improving URL Canonicalization, Google is attempting to make sure your site gets credit even though the URLs might be spelled differently on different websites.
* No More Page Hijacking Although not a common problem, there are unscrupulous jerks out there who will find a popular site and hijack its content by using 302 redirects. Google is attempting to eliminated the ability to do this effectively hopefully they are succeeding.
* New Spider You will also see a new Google spider called Mozilla Bot instead of the old familiar GoogleBot. If you are into looking at server logs, the new agent is Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)
* Less Search Engine Spam continuing with the recent trends, Google seems hell-bent on eliminating the effectiveness of purchased keywords and link farms. If you are still employing these black-hat techniques, then you probably just found out about the BigDaddy update the hard way. If you didnt, then you will probably be hearing from BigDaddy soon.

BigDaddy Foretells More Changes To Come

In the immediate aftermath of a major update like BigDaddy, there are a number of things you can expect to happen.

The first is that your websites PageRank (PR) will probably change over the next few weeks. If youve been doing the things that Google likes, then you will likely see your PR improve, if you are engaged in unscrupulous (by Googles standards) activities, then you can expect your PR to go down. To see a list of what Google likes visit http://www.google.com/webmasters/.
In addition, some of your sites older content will be re-crawled and older, unlinked content will probably be removed from the index.
Over the next few months, there will also likely be a series of smaller updates that will take advantage of the new infrastructure provided by the BigDaddy update. Flash-heavy sites that were held artificially low may move up in the rankings while sites that rely heavily on reciprocal linking will likely go down.

BigDaddy Not Such A Big Deal
In short, as long as you are not engaged in Black-hat Birmingham SEO, BigDaddy itself is probably no cause for alarm. If your site has recently bounced around in Googles results, then you will notice that things have probably returned to normal in the last week or so, and your rankings have probably improved a little bit.

Moving forward, in the next few weeks you can expect changes to your PageRank, and perhaps deeper crawls by Googles new spider, Mozilla Bot. In the next few months there will likely be a number of smaller updates, mostly pertaining to issues like Flash content and niche-specific algorithm changes.

As with all algorithm changes, there is no reason to panic just because “BigDaddy” blew through town. Like hurricanes in the real world, algo changes blow a lot of loose material around; but if your website’s foundation is sound, you will weather the storm and be ready for business once the storm has passed.

The success of a website is largely determined by its ranking in the search engines. But how are these rankings achieved? How are they determined by the search engine? What should be done when ranking falls? Understanding the workings of the search engines is important for any website owner to remain competitive. Finding a search engine optimization company can be a valuable resource to understand and improve search engine ranking.

Search engines have a set of algorithms in place to index or inspect all types of websites. The search engines send bots to sites to index them according to the algorithms and then all the information is stored in a data center. The algorithms consist of a number of specifications including things like keyword density, meta tags, number of pages, content, and much, much more. The bots visit the site frequently to monitor the site for updates and changes.

There are a number of techniques that make up search engine optimization, the method used be website developers to help improve ranking. Depending on the saturation of a particular keyword in a market, a site can rank high or way down the list. Choosing the right keywords to target can make or break your ranking. Keyword placement within the site is also a great contributor to ranking.

Other factors that can affect ranking are updating the site and placing relevant content on the site. The more quality content a site has the better. Relevant content helps the search engines to pick up keywords and keyword phrases. Search engines are also partial to frequently updated content which could range from articles, links, or any other related content.

When ranking falls, it can be contributed to a number of factors. It does not mean that the site is gone forever. Search engines used different data centers to provide results on any given day. Check back in a few hours or a day or so, and the results can be different. Search engines also update their algorithms from time to time. Sometimes these updates can be minor, and in other cases they are major. There may be a new competitor in your market. Visit their site and see why they have the advantage.

Achieving top search engine rankings is competitive. Position in the search engine results can make or break a website. A search engine optimization company is an excellent way to make your site search engine compatible. With exclusive search marketing services you can get your site to number one.

Major search engines like Google are constantly striving to ensure that sites at the top of their result pages offer invaluable information or service to their visitors. However, webmasters who are looking to make quick money while offering very little quality content are always finding new ways to beat the search engines at their own game. For this reason, search engines regularly change the methods they use to determine relevancy and importance of your site.

Evolving Search Engines

The first step you should take is to ensure that your website will do an effective job of turning visitors into money. The content needs to be optimized so that both search engine visitors and human visitors both deem it to be a useful website. Once upon a time, effective optimization entailed cramming content with as many keywords as possible and while this once generated good search engine results it invariably put visitors off. It is also now frowned upon and penalized as being spam by all of the major search engines.

The Evolution And Improvement Of Algorithms

Search engines use specific algorithms to determine the relevance of your website. The calculations from these algorithms determine where on the search engine result pages your website will appear. In order to keep the unscrupulous webmasters guessing and ensuring that results are always up to date, major search engines regularly update their algorithms.

Recent Advances

The result of some of the most recent changes has seen the impetus move away from optimizing websites for search engines and instead the algorithms are now geared to promote websites that give true value to visitors. Theyre not only changing, they are evolving into more intelligent and accurate algorithms. While the use of keywords based around the relevant topic is still important, it is also important to ensure that visitors are your main priority.

Keyword Optimization

Keyword optimization is now more heavily guarded. Those who include keywords too often will have their sites labeled as spam, whereas not enough instances of the appropriate keyword means you wont receive the desired results. However, the algorithms have become particularly smart and as well as the keywords you want to target you should include other relevant keywords. Including inflexions of keywords is one excellent way to ensure that your site is deemed to be relevant. Inflexions are slight changes to your keyword. For example, inflexions of the keyword advertising include advertise, advertised, advertisement, etc

Keyword Inclusion

Weight is also given to keywords that are included in certain sections of a page. These sections include the title tag, meta tags (only relevant to smaller search engines now), header tags, image alt tags and formatting tags (e.g. keywords in bold or italicized) of your text. With image alt tags and hyperlink title tags it is important that you dont simply fill these with keywords because this will be ignored at best, and penalized at worst.

Natural Content Writing

One of the most effective ways to ensure that your site is keyword optimized properly is to write the content naturally first. Once you have done this, go through and ensure that any relevant keywords are included throughout the text. Only place them where they would appear naturally and remove them from anywhere where they appear awkward. Once youve written the content you should also check the remaining factors to ensure everything is ok.

Birmingham SEO Keyword Checklist

Below is a keyword checklist to ensure that you have fully optimized your web pages to the current, generally accepted search engine algorithm rules.

URL
Get your primary keyword as close to the beginning of the URL as possible.

Title Tag
The title should be between 10 and 50 characters and include one or more keywords while still being descriptive.

Description Meta Tag
The description meta tag should be insightful and useful but it should also contain one or two of your more important keywords.

Keyword Meta Tag
It makes sense that you should include all of your keywords in the keyword meta tag. Do not include any words that dont appear in the body of your text.

Keyword Density
Your content should be made up of all of your keywords and other text. A total keyword density (all keywords) of around 15% to 20% is the maximum you should aim for and anything less than 5% is unlikely to yield good results.Density for a single keyword should be between 1% and 7%. 1% seems too low, and 7% a little too high. Wherever possible aim for approx 5% with the primary keyword and 3% with secondary and subsequent keywords.

Header Tags (e.g. H1 and H2 tags)
More weight is given to keywords that appear within H1 tags, then H2 tags and so on.

Text Formatting Fonts (e.g. strong, bold and underline)
This may not offer much weight in algorithms, but generally if you bold the first instance of your keywords and the last instance of your primary keyword you should see some positive results.

Beginning Of Text
The closer you can get your keywords to the beginning of your page content the better. Try to include your primary keyword within the first sentence or two and also within the last paragraph.

Key-Phrases As Whole Phrases
If you are targeting Internet Marketing as a key phrase then do not split the words up if possible. Some effect is noticed if the words are split, but much more benefit is received by including the phrase as a whole.

Alt Text
Include your keyword at least once in the Alt tag of any images. Ensure that the text is relevant to the image and gives some information.

Since most link building campaigns are done to support ongoing ranking strategies, it’s important to know where and how to look for “link traps” that keep you from your Search Engine Optimization (Leeds SEO) efforts and goals. Websites that employ the use of robots.txt, JavaScript or certain redirects should be avoided. Websites that show no meter of Google green (PR) should be thoroughly checked. It’s important to secure links from a venue a search engine can spider. Links from websites outside your industry niche won’t hurt your link building effort; however they don’t provide a good ranking boost contribution since it doesn’t reinforce any relevancy of your keywords.

Overview

Reciprocal linking is an effective way of generating targeted, topic related traffic to your website. By increasing the amount of websites that pass a vote to your web page through the use of a backlink, the more important Googles will deem your website, which with time will lead to higher Search Engine Result Pages (SERP’s).

What we will focus on is determining which link exchange partners have links that are worthwhile of your time & effort. When looking for link exchange partners you want to look at multiple factors to ensure you are receiving a quality link exchange that allows a vote to be passed back to your web page. Intense Development is going to review 3 factors that qualifies the link as a good exchange:

1. Passing a vote
2. Passing traffic
3. Passing PageRank

1. Passing a Vote

This factor is more virtual than materialistic since this would at most times be based on your personal opinion. The quality of the vote passed on to your web page consists of multiple pointers that you have to ask yourself:

Is it informative to your websites topic? Does it provide a quantity of quality content? Stick to websites that provide unique content that provides additional insight and is relevant to your websites topic.

How long has the website being in existence? Has this website being in existence long enough to build itself up to be considered an authority site?

How many outgoing links does the link page have?

Web pages that have less than 50 outgoing links are still considered effective enough to exchange with. See it this way: A Search Engine will provide (example) 100 points to each page outgoing links. If you have one outgoing link it will get the full vote value. If you have 50 outgoing links to other websites, than you vote count is only 2 points. Web pages with limited amount of outgoing links are favorable.

The placement of the link: Will the link partner allow a submission of your link within a paragraph of keyword related / informative text? This way your outgoing link does not follow the webs usual linking exchange pattern, which overtime could become devalued with Search Engines? The surrounding text reinforces your links keywords and might provide additional boost in the keywords relevance.

2. Passing Traffic

Serves good for targeted and high-volume traffic which could convert to clients. Many times the position of the link is what it takes to get more traffic from the website. On good way to determine the hotspot where visitors look most often is by checking out this site EyeTracker

3. Passing PageRank

PageRank (PR) is Google rating system of the quality of the website. The bar runs between 1 to 10 and the closer to 10 you can get the more valuable the exchange. In the past, Page Rank has been the main focus point in many webmasters and Search Engine marketers. Page Rank has overtime become less important in Google’s overall ranking algorithm, and now it determines the interval of the Search Engines spider / bots return to the website, for faster indexing of new content.

If you are a webmaster you will have undoubtedly heard of all the hype going on about one way and reciprocal links as a way of ranking higher in the search engines.

The Search Engine Optimization (Liverpool SEO) industry is currently one of the most spectacular and dynamic entities that dominate the online economy, and the truth is that every web owner should keep an eye open for the trends that characterize Liverpool SEO.

Reciprocal linking is and always has been one of the top web promotion methods.

The idea behind reciprocal links is simple: one webmaster places a link to a different website and, in return, that website also places a link back. This helps both websites as visitors from one will also go to the other and vice versa.

However, there are bigger stakes here the search engines rank websites on several factors, but one of the most important concerns the number and quality of back links of your website. If you get hundreds of links from established websites that are also related to the topic of your own website, chances are your search engine placement will be excellent.

Pleasing the three main search engines

The power of reciprocal links is huge, as it is one of the most effective ways to get Google, Yahoo and MSN to favor your site. While you know, as a webmaster, that high quality content and good linking are the best keys to long lasting success, chances are you dont like to spend hours and hours carrying out manual link exchanges.

This is why there are tens of thousands of amazing websites out there that are barely known by a few people their webmasters are simply overwhelmed by the idea of exchanging the necessary number of links to rank high on Google, Yahoo and MSN.

While there is no set number of links that you need in order to have your pages displayed in the top 10 results, you will most likely need hundreds or thousands of links.

Automating the process

In order to address the needs of webmasters who would love to promote their websites but simply dont have the time or energy to carry out hundreds of manual link exchanges, many web entrepreneurs have designed automated link exchange software and websites.

One of the most popular and innovative ways of dealing with link exchanges is through automated directories. Not only will these link exchange directories facilitate the link exchange process by offering other webmasters a fast and easy way to performing the exchange, but they also offer excellent link management systems. A great linking directory you may want to consider is:

o http://www.MyLinkMachine.com

Veteran Internet marketers will tell you that keeping track of active and broken links is almost as important as acquiring them in the first place, so the tools that come with such directories are real time savers. The automated link directory approach has several other benefits, such as the fact that you can categorize the reciprocal links, offering a better structure for both link partners and website visitors.

Search Engine Optimization Methods: Be Favorite of Both Search Engines and Visitors

Search Engine Optimization! Its nothing but a smart and effective strategy to attract search engine bots to your website and get hold of targeted traffic. Undoubtedly, Leeds SEO is a complicated and often thought to be very technical issue. All major search engines including Google, Yahoo and Overture employ complex algorithms and sophisticated technologies to offer quality and relevant information to their users in the most comfortable and easy way.

Lets make it simpler to understand. Whenever you want to look for some information, you enter a keyword or phrase in any search engine. At a single click, system provides you with a list of relevant web sites that may range from few to thousands depending upon the popularity of keyword or topic. It is very obvious that user will rely upon Google and find the top ten sites as most relevant. So, in order to get your product in eyes of your potential customers, your website needs to be among the top ten or as close to the top as possible.

Now we can say that Leeds SEO is all about making your site attractive to the search engine system so as to be among the top search results. Well, getting an idea about Leeds SEO techniques should be your next target. Here I am giving you some winning methods applying which you’ll be well on your way to creating or running a search engine friendly website.

Get High Quality Content

Internet users always look for and prefer relevant and high quality content. Another good reason is that search engines prefer giving high ranking to the sites that have best content. So, focus on having really good and interesting content for your site in order to attract both search engines and users.

Target The Right Keywords

Target the keywords that are most popular among searches. Look for the keywords that are frequently searched by your potential customers. They are normally very generic. And here the smart idea is about using the same searchable keywords in your content as well. Another thing you should keep in mind is the relevancy of keywords. The search engine system compares the page titles, the keywords and the content of your website to make sure whether the site is relevant. So, you need to be smart enough to provide the search engine a good reason to list your site among top ten results based on its search criteria.

Avoid Repeating Keyword Phrases

Better said Spamming, repeating keyword phrases can kill your site. Neither users not the search engines like spamming. So, this mistake can get you into trouble with the search engines.

Update Your Site Frequently

Search engines love fresh content. Moreover, frequent updating keeps your regular users as well as search engine bots interested in visiting your site again. Now, updating doesnt mean just tweaking but having a steady stream of fresh content flowing into the pages.

Say NO to Hidden Text

Use of hidden text is one of black hat methods for Leeds SEO that may sound effective but can get your website penalized if caught by search engine system. This technique can fool human visitors but not search engines. So, its better to stay away from any of black hat methods to avoid unwanted situations, like getting penalized or even much lower rankings.

Get Incoming Links From Relevant Sites

Focus on link building. Keep an eye for quality one way links. Be it via press releases, directory submissions, or article marketing; try getting new incoming links to your website.

Well, once you start focusing on these winning and long term optimization techniques, youll find a noticeable improvement in your rakings without bothering much about the search engine logarithms and criteria. There is no end to things that you should do and shouldnt do for Leeds SEO, but above methods have definitely have worked for years, and no doubt going to work for the foreseeable future as well.

Introduction
So you have completed your website, great! Now how are you going to attract visitors? If you do not let them know you’re there, your visitors will never find find you. How are you going to sell products when users don’t know that you exist? Liverpool SEO will make your website noticeable on the internet, and this small guide will help you bring targeted visitors to your website.

Optimize your website
The most important part of your website is quality content. Search engines (such as google) will crawl your content and index it into a database. If your content does not match the product you are selling, you will not attract targeted visitors. It is therefore very important that you choose your (key)words very carefully. For instance, if you sell calculators on the internet, make sure you mention the words calculator, calc, math and more calculator related words on your website. However, be careful not to mention the words too often, or search engines might think your website is spam, which will result in a very low rank (search engine position) within the search results.

Linkbuilding
When more websites link to your site, the more attention you will get from search engines, which results in higher ranking. When you create and receive links from other websites to your website, make sure important keywords are used as anchor keywords in the hyperlink. If you sell calculators online, use a link such as; “buy calculator” instead of “click here”.

Target your audience
Leave your link on website where your potential customers meet, for instance forums or discussion boards related to your website. Do not spam your website as this will be noticed by crawlers and will eventually result in a blacklist entry.

Offline targeting
Be sure to market your website offline as well. Advertise in local newspapers, tell everyone about your website, etc.

Add a sitemap to your website When you want search engines to crawl your entire website, the best thing to do is adding a sitemap to your website.

Make sure searchbots can read your website
Searchbots can only read plain text.websites. No matter how beautiful your flash animation is, searchbots cannot read the content inside that animation. Therefore, try to avoid Flash animations on your website when there is content involved. Same story goes for JavaScript.

Do NOT use frames
Never use frames to design your website! Lots of search engines simply skip webpages with frames since they are a difficult to be seen apart from each other by visitors. For instance, if your framepage would consist of menu.html and content.html and your visitor would land on content.html, he would not have a menu to navigate through your website.

Stay away from bad neighbourhoods and don’t spam!
Do not be tempted into leaving your link on abandonned guestbooks, forums or spam your link on every website you can find. Do not exchange links with spammy websites (such as pharmacy websites) either. The risk exists that google will classify your website as a spamsite and will block your website from any search results.

Adsense is beginning to make a huge impact on the affiliate marketing industry today. Because of this, weak affiliate merchants have the tendency to die faster than ever and ad networks will be losing their customers quickly.

If you are in a losing rather than winning in the affiliate program you are currently promoting, maybe it is about time to consider going into the Adsense marketing and start earning some real cash.

Google is readily providing well written and highly relevant ads that are closely chosen to match the content on your pages. You do not have to look for them yourselves as the search engine will be the doing the searching for you from other peoples source.

You also don’t have to spend time in choosing different kind of ads for different pages. Google makes it very easy for you, with no codes to mess around for different affiliate programs.

You will be able to concentrate on providing good and quality content, as the search engines will be the ones finding the best ads in which to put your pages on.

You are still allowed to add Adsense ads even if you already have affiliate links on your site. It is prohibited, however, to imitate the look and feel of the Google ads for your affiliate links. One of the things you can do, however, is to utilize Google’s custom palette to customize your Google ads, making them to appear a part of the web page itself. The idea here is to match background and links to match the theme of your site. People on the internet today are trained to click on a link that is blue, and if your Google ads have the same theme as your web page, it makes the Google ads appear to be a portion of your “content.”

You can also filter up to 200 URLs. This gives you a chance to block ads for the sites that do not meet your guidelines, and also block competitors. Remember that it is unavoidable that Adsense may be competing for some space on web sites that all other revenues are sharing.

Owners of small sites are allowed to plug a bit of a code into their sites and instantly have relevant text ads that appeal to your visitors appear instantly on your pages. If you own many sites, you only need to apply once. Then ,you are issued a unique “publisher ID”, which can be used on any site you currently own. A small snippet of Javascript is placed on your site in the location you wish the ads to appear in, and generally speaking, the ads from Goggle will appear in minutes. This ends the hassle of having to apply to many affiliate programs, and keeping track of many different URL’s and user ID’s and passwords.

As Google ads are very easy to customize, and can be placed anywhere on your site you wish, you can experiment with placement, colors, and themes. Many tricks are available to the resourceful webmaster, including adding images in conjunction with your Google ads to make them more noticeable.

The payment rates can vary extremely. The payment you will be receiving per click depends on how much advertisers are paying per click to advertise with the use of the AdWords. Advertisers can pay as little as 5 cents and as high as $10-12, sometimes even more than that too. Some savvy lawyers are currently paying as high as $75 for advertising the keyword mesothelioma! And you, as the ad publisher, are earning a share of that money generated.

If your results remain stagnant, it can help if you try and build simple and uncluttered pages so that the ads can catch the visitors eyes more. It sometimes pay to differ from the usual things that people are doing already. Google has many tutorials, including a “heat chart” which shows you where the best placement for ads are. You will need an account to access these tutorials. Sign up for an Adsense account at https://www.google.com/adsense/?sourceid=aso&subid=ww-et-awhome&hl=en_US. It is also a refreshing sight for your visitor once they see something different for a change.

It is still wise to look at other peoples information and format your Adsense in a like manner. A wise old business axiom is to “find a good business model, then copy it.” Let others do the hard work for you, and learn from a successful site. Just think about it as doing yourself a favor by not having to work too hard to know what content to have. Look to sites that have high page rank, and carefully observe their layouts, their content, and placement of their ads. A little time spent doing research can put dollars in your pocket down the road.

Publishers have the option of choosing to have their ads displayed only on a certain site or sites. You can also have them displayed on a large network of sites if you so desire. Google now has the option to allow other people to advertise on your site. This only makes good sense. If you are marketing to a tightly defined niche, you can place your own ads, written by you, on site that allow this option. The choice is yours, depending on what you think will work best to your advantage.

It is important to note that you cannot choose certain topics only. If you do this, search engines will not place Adsense ads on your site and you will be missing out a great opportunity in making hundreds and even thousands of dollars cash.

Topics to be avoided includes gambling, firearms, ammunition, tobacco or drugs. If you are being offered more cash in exchange of doing Adsense with these kinds, it is just like signing your own termination paper.

With all the information that people need in your hands already, all you have to do is turn Google Adsense into your own cash cow. It all boils down to a win-win situation both for the content site owners and the webmasters or publishers.

Our website, http://www.for-the-record.biz, is a good source of information for the beginning marketer. We present a lot of content for those needing more information on a variety of subjects.

Search engine optimization (Leeds SEO) is the process by which webmasters or online business owners utilize strategic copy on their websites, together with offsite linking strategies to increase their websites status in the eyes of the search engines. (You can find out more about this at http://www.001sitepromotion.com) As the internet has grown, so equally fast has the competition for the best search engine positions. This has created the search engine optimisation market, which helps webmasters (that’s YOU!) to improve the exposure of your web pages to targetted internet users.

And therefore a better understanding of the fundamental elements of Search Engine Optimization is vital for any online business success.

Ok. So what is search engine optimization?

Firstly, to begin with, understand that making use of effective Leeds SEO techniques will improve the page rank of your website. This is one of Google’s measures of the importance of a site on the internet, and whether or not it is considered an ‘authority’ site.

There are many tricks that can be used to increase page rank; the most effective method is to provide high quality content consistently.

This seems like a simple concept but there are many websites that fail to provide content that visitors find interesting.

The bottom line is that sites which provide content that is interesting, well-written and regularly updated create highly engaged visitors who are more likely to return to the website in the coming days. So, if you can set your website apart from those boring, lifeless sites then do it. Youll surely then be a step closer to achieving high page rank (and more importantly high positions on the search engines) through search engine optimization.

There are secrets on how to rank highly with the major search engines, but effective search engine optimisation is now an immense task, because the search engine algorithms are constantly changing and over 100 factors (at least) go into deciding where a web page should rank for a particular search term. So the ‘secrets’ are also constantly in a state of flux.

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN, are in the business of providing their users with the most relevant and up-to-date information to match the search term that was being searched for. To do this they utilise sophisticated technology which allow users to quickly find relevant websites by searching for a word or a phrase. Search engine results are useless to users if the information doesnt relate to the search term, or if the results are too old. People expect up-to-date and fresh information that is readily useful to them. And so the search engines are constantly on guard for ‘sneaky’ search engine optimisation techniques that don’t return their users with ‘useful’ results.

Updating your website everyday and adding great new material will help you to get noticed by the search engines. The bottom line is that if you are going to sell any type of product or service online (or even if you just want more visitors for your personal website), it definitely pays to optimize your website for the search engines, in order to quickly provide a boost of traffic, sales and hopefully profits!

Face it. Over 90% of your business will likely come directly from search engine results. And for that reason, it is absolutely vital to optimize your site and attract as much relevant traffic as possible.
