Implementing Liverpool SEO services in your marketing strategy is a very wise thing to do for the following five reasons :

* The Absence Of Risk often, paid advertising is subject to click-fraud risks and competitors unfair techniques ( examples of these techniques would be the usage of software that will click your ads for hundreds of times without any noticeable profit to your site; however, you will pay for each and every single click to ). Pay-for-performance programs like Google AdWords have advanced protection against this harmful behavior but the risk will never be eliminated. However, Liverpool SEO is free of any potential risk unless you make obvious mistakes like spamming.

* Reliability paid search engine placement or banner ads work right until the moment when the marketing budget depletes. After that moment the site disappears from the listings and the returning customers will not find you again ( nor will the new visitors ). Liverpool SEO services will help buffer this process so you can gradually minimize the advertising budget as you will be increasing your results that are obtained from the organic search engine listings. Another advantage of this would be the fact that consumers prefer purchasing from a site that is ranked high in the search engine results rather than purchasing from an evidently placed advertisement.

* Brand Awareness a website that has a high rank among search engine listings means that more people will see the companys name and become more and more familiar with the products as well as the company although they still havent made one single purchase. A recent survey clearly shows that consumers are twice as likely to recognize businesses that are ranked high ( top three ) in the search engine listings in comparison to those that are appearing in the regular banner ads.

* Targeted Traffic the Liverpool SEO services will bring paying customers right to your door step. These customers that we are talking about have entered your websites keywords or phrases into the search engines and the results showed your business. The Liverpool SEO services will help you transform regular visitors into real buyers by analyzing their behavior once they locate your site. By utilizing the content of your website you will learn how to transform these visitors into buyers in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
* Affordability comparing banner ads with Liverpool SEO services in terms of costs, the money that you will pay for these services wont reach staggering sums like $15,000 that people pay for banner ads.
Now we are going to offer you a small list of techniques that should be avoided at all costs:

* Keyword stuffing

* Automatically generated doorway pages

* Misspelling of well-known websites

* Hidden text or hidden links

* Cloaking and false redirects

* Duplicated content on multiple pages

* Other methods that try to trick search engines

All in all, Liverpool SEO is highly recommended if you want to make your business popular because popularity over the Internet is crucial as you will attract more visitors and if you play your cards the right way, these visitors will be transformed into first time buyers and with a bit of luck, customers.

Every few months Google updates the algorithm it uses to rank websites in its index. Some of these updates are more significant than others, but because of Googles market leading position these updates can be extremely significant to many online businesses.

Internet Marketers assign names to these updates much the same way the weather service names hurricanes. Last October it was Jagger, before that we had the infamous Florida Update in late 2003, and Austin in early 2004.

Each update is designed to improve search results by either doing a better job of identifying high-quality content on the Internet, or by doing a better job of suppressing low-quality content.

Over the last two or three weeks, many website owners have seen traffic to their sites from Google fluctuate quite a bit. This is normal for algorithm updates as the index is updated on one data center, a site will change positions. The fluctuations occur because the index in the new data center is not completely built, and therefore a site may be placed artificially high or low until all the data is brought into equilibrium.

A few days ago, Google completed a major overhaul of its algorithm this one dubbed BigDaddy and in the world of search engine updates its a category 5 hurricane; well, sort of.

You see, after all the turmoil of the past three weeks or so, most marketers are probably seeing their websites ranked more or less where they were about a month ago. This is unusual. Usually major algorithm changes result in significant changes in site rankings for virtually all sites on the Internet. Both the Florida and Jagger updates changed the landscape of Googles Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) dramatically.

So, Whats the Big Deal About BigDaddy?

At first glance, the BigDaddy update seems to be much ado about nothing. However, there are some welcome changes that have been included in this update that should make Google a much friendlier place for those of us who build valuable content-rich websites.

* Increasing size and scope of the index One of the purposes of this latest update was to increase the size of the index itself. This will allow Google to dig deeper into your site and catalog even more of your content (HTML, JavaScripts, Flash, etc).
* URL Canonicalization Yes, its a scary word, but its actually quite simple. Essentially, canonicalization is determining which URL is the most appropriate for a given page. For example, the following URLs are all valid ways of reaching the homepage of SomeWebsite.com:
By improving URL Canonicalization, Google is attempting to make sure your site gets credit even though the URLs might be spelled differently on different websites.
* No More Page Hijacking Although not a common problem, there are unscrupulous jerks out there who will find a popular site and hijack its content by using 302 redirects. Google is attempting to eliminated the ability to do this effectively hopefully they are succeeding.
* New Spider You will also see a new Google spider called Mozilla Bot instead of the old familiar GoogleBot. If you are into looking at server logs, the new agent is Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)
* Less Search Engine Spam continuing with the recent trends, Google seems hell-bent on eliminating the effectiveness of purchased keywords and link farms. If you are still employing these black-hat techniques, then you probably just found out about the BigDaddy update the hard way. If you didnt, then you will probably be hearing from BigDaddy soon.

BigDaddy Foretells More Changes To Come

In the immediate aftermath of a major update like BigDaddy, there are a number of things you can expect to happen.

The first is that your websites PageRank (PR) will probably change over the next few weeks. If youve been doing the things that Google likes, then you will likely see your PR improve, if you are engaged in unscrupulous (by Googles standards) activities, then you can expect your PR to go down. To see a list of what Google likes visit http://www.google.com/webmasters/.
In addition, some of your sites older content will be re-crawled and older, unlinked content will probably be removed from the index.
Over the next few months, there will also likely be a series of smaller updates that will take advantage of the new infrastructure provided by the BigDaddy update. Flash-heavy sites that were held artificially low may move up in the rankings while sites that rely heavily on reciprocal linking will likely go down.

BigDaddy Not Such A Big Deal
In short, as long as you are not engaged in Black-hat Birmingham SEO, BigDaddy itself is probably no cause for alarm. If your site has recently bounced around in Googles results, then you will notice that things have probably returned to normal in the last week or so, and your rankings have probably improved a little bit.

Moving forward, in the next few weeks you can expect changes to your PageRank, and perhaps deeper crawls by Googles new spider, Mozilla Bot. In the next few months there will likely be a number of smaller updates, mostly pertaining to issues like Flash content and niche-specific algorithm changes.

As with all algorithm changes, there is no reason to panic just because “BigDaddy” blew through town. Like hurricanes in the real world, algo changes blow a lot of loose material around; but if your website’s foundation is sound, you will weather the storm and be ready for business once the storm has passed.

Why Choosing The Right Bristol SEO Firm Is Crucial To Business Website Success

Choosing the right search engine optimisation (Bristol SEO) firm and online marketing company is the most important phase in your business website’s existence. It is important to align yourself with a company that are good at selling products and services online in order to ensure you reap the benefits that Bristol SEO can truly deliver. Using in house Bristol SEO staff is often flawed so when a business makes the decision to choose an external source for their online marketing solution then I always encourage the company to do a lot of research on the potential firms.

As search engine optimisation (Bristol SEO) requires expertise the first thing I suggest is searching on Google for “Bristol SEO” and “Online Marketing” in your regional index and taking note of the top 5 companies for each search result set. Compare them. Then make a list of the companies that are repeated. The reason I suggest searching on Google is that

- Google holds over 85% of the search market in Australia. I am not sure on other regional areas in the World but as far as I am concerned Google dominate and they have the most advanced search algorithm.

- Any company that can successfully market its own products – Bristol SEO and Online Marketing, and be placed in the top 5 results are very good at online marketing and as these terms are very competitive it is the cream of the crop being listed.

So, now you should contact each of the firms that are repeated in the list and ask to make an appointment with them to discuss how Bristol SEO can best benefit your business website.

As long as you have done the searches above then there are several questions I like to ask at this point.
1. Where do they place in the search engine results pages for their own products? – Bristol SEO and Online/Internet Marketing?
2. Do they have at least 10 examples of Bristol SEO clients in comparable industries (B2B/B2C) that they can show online marketing success with? – look for traffic graphs and keywords being searched on to get to the website.
3. How many staff do the Bristol SEO firm have?
4. Does the Bristol SEO company have 24/7 support and phone contact?
5. Are they professional and expert in their handling of your questions and delivering clear honest answers?
6. Read some of the Bristol SEO firm’s testimonials.

After these questions have been answered then you will generally have a very good idea of how good the company actually is. What their philosophies are and whether they are a good fit for your business website objectives.

There are several things I would also consider very strongly.
- Never trust a company that is willing to make any kind of guarantees on results. There is no way that an Bristol SEO company can know for sure that your website is going to be listed in the top 10 in the search results. If they do make promises then it is likely they will be optimising your website for less than optimal keywords that are uncompetitive. For example you sell “Blue widgets” and you would like to be listed in the top ten for blue widgets but it is very competitive. This dodgy company says they can get you in the top ten, but they don’t say for what keywords and they do deliver but its for a keyword phrase like “blue widget with flowers in Melbourne Australia” – this is completely useless and will not sell any more of your products!!
- Never choose an Bristol SEO firm on price. Trust me when I say this – You get what you pay for! Aligning your business website with the best Bristol SEO firm, which may be more expensive, is going to get you a lot more traffic than a lower ranked Bristol SEO company. A more experienced Bristol SEO firm is likely to have many, many testimonials and graphs of clients to show you. Align with the best Bristol SEO Company and you get the best results it’s as simple as that – there is no doubt in my mind on this.

Now that you have narrowed down the list, take a day to go through all of the information gathered. Assess everything on its merits and choose wisely. As I said above, never choose based on price, you pay peanuts and you will get monkeys. Graphic design and coding the building of a website make up about 20% of the success of the website, the other 80% is getting people to come to your website and buy your product or service. A similar comparison is opening a shop. You can make it as plush and nice as you want inside but if no one is coming through the door then it really doesn’t matter how nice it is does it? You could well have a warehouse and market more and you would likely be far more successful. In summary, align your business website with the best Bristol SEO firm that you can find.

Your goal when copywriting for your web site is to get your site to the top three pages in the SERPs (search engine results position). Any further back than the first three pages or thirty sites, and your site wont be found because thats where the average web site surfer stopsafter just three pages of searching. And web site information seekers account for the vast majority of click-throughs on your site.

Copywriting for search engines should be part of your search engine optimization strategy, but its challenging to say the least. Most of us are either artistic or scientific types; few are both. But thats what online copywriting is all about. Its both an art and a science, and thats what gets most people on the wrong track.

In a nutshell, good web site copy needs to be rich, keyword-specific and topic-based. Many inexperienced web developers simply use brochures for their web site copy. Dont let them talk you into it! Search engines most likely wont find your web site if you do.

The optimal web site page size is around 2 MS Word pages. If you have more copy than that, consider splitting it into two or more. If you find youve got more than one topic on a page, split it into two or more.

If youre like me, your first instinct is to sit down and start plunking away at your keyboard and get as many of your thoughts out as quickly as possible.

And thats fine for your basic outline, but thats about as far as itll get you. Thats the artistic side. And it just might be the wrong side to start with. Ive learned over the years that, contrary to my instinct, starting with the scientific is actually easier and faster.

So, where do you start?

The first thing I do is find the right keywords to base my copywriting on, and theres a relatively simple way to figure out which keywords to use. Open your favorite spreadsheet program (I use MS excel), and head four columns with:

Keyword&nbsp&nbsp #Searched&nbsp&nbsp#Returned&nbsp&nbspRatio

Then, find a good keyword suggestion tool. Wordtracker has one and so does Overture, and both have free trials. There are also several others out there to use.

Tip: Keyword suggestion tools suggest more keywords and phrases for your search terms.

So, what youre going to do is brainstorm some keywords and phrases for your product or service, enter them in the keyword column, and find out how often its searched for in your keyword suggestion tool.

Next go to a search engine and search for the phrase in quotations to find your competition for that word or phrase. And then figure out the ratio of #searched to #returned. What youre looking for is a low number of returns for a highly searched word or phrase, or a relatively low ratio.

Tip: Keyword phrases often work better than keywords alone.

You want brainstorm a hundred or more words and phrases, and choose two to four to use in your web site copy. And as the saying goes, two heads are better than one so ask your family, friends and neighbors for input if you can.

Try a general keyword and start there. Youll find a general keyword will be searched a lot, but youll also find theres too much competition in most cases, so your ratio is too high. Then try different spellings, misspellings and more specific phrases. Youre looking for two to four target words or phrases per page.

For example bodybuilding has a ratio over 4,000, but body building is under 3,000. To get more specific, try targeting women. Body building woman has a ratio of around 500.

Once weve found our target phrases, we can start writing our web site content. But where do we put our targeted keywords and phrases?

Search engines look in specific places to try to determine your web sites theme, yet theyre all slightly different as to exactly where they look and relative importance of each placing.

Nearly all search engines use page title as one of the most important, so try to make sure your page title uses at least one targeted phrase, or better yet, two. Our example title could be Body Building Supplements How to Build Muscle Company Name for example. That uses two of our target phrases and our company name. Or we could substitute the protein shake name for the company name.

Some search engines use meta tags, others do not, so I generally include meta tags for the search engines that do.

Heading tags are next in importance, ranging in importance from H1 and down. If you recall, in our last newsletter, we mentioned that headings are also high on your list for catching clients interest, so h1 heading tags carry lots of weight for both. One thing to watch for is cute headings, which can work for clients, but wont work for search engines. To make the search engines happy, you need to include your keywords in your headings.

The last thing to be aware of for search engine copywriting is keyword density and placement. Again, each search engines seems to want something a little different, but youre pretty safe if you have keywords near the beginning, middle and end of your copy. Youre looking for keyword density balance though because too many and your site is seen as spam by the search engines, while too few mean your web site theme isnt clear enough to be found by your target audience.

So, now you have your keywords and you can start writing, right? Well, you can, but unless you keep a few points in mind, your copywriting wont be as effective as youd like it to be. But thats the subject for another article.

Vertical Creep in Search Results :: Should Organic Optimizers be Concerned?

This year, like many people, I wasnt able to attend. However, I wanted to keep up with the news, so I found a great source of reports and updates. I will summarize the most important sessions to the best of my ability.

In my opinion, one of the most crucial topics is Vertical Creep.

Vertical creep is when non-organic and non-paid results start occupying top spots in search results. Verticals started showing up in search results back when Altavista was popular, and since then have grown into a much more sophisticated part of the overall search engine results page. Greg Jarboe was the first to speak of vertical creep and introduced everyone to verticals.

All the engines have verticals in some form or another nowadays. Google has its famous OneBox which is generally the place immediately below the top sponsored ads but immediately above the organic results. This is where you will find news, Froogle, and image results which may match a query.

For example, I wrote a few weeks ago about how, when you searched for Olympics on Google, you were presented with video results at the top of the page. But it doesnt stop there. Do a search for New Orleans, for example, and in Google you are presented with not only news results but also map results, pushing the organic results down so that only the top 2 or 3 results are showing. Much less than the typical 4 or 5 we are used to seeing.

One of the biggest impacts of Verticals is the stretching of the search results page. It is becoming ever clearer that everything but the top 1 or 2 organic is worth less because it could be pushed below the fold, whereas sponsoreds value is increasing because there are less organic results visible.

According to Gord Hotchkiss, however, the impact on verticals, at least on Yahoo! And MSN, isnt as great. His firm has recently completed research on how users interact with search engines. The Yahoo! MSN research performed by Hotchkiss firm is a follow up to Google research the firm completed last year at this time.

According to Hotchkiss, Google does a better job of incorporating Verticals into results. Google users are more accepting of them while Yahoo! and MSN users tend to scan more of the results on a page, thereby negating the impact verticals have on organic results.

This could mean a couple of things. First, as Hotchkiss suggests, Google may have trained its users. We are used to seeing the verticals (and hit bolding and inconsistently displayed sponsored results) and are therefore more accepting to the varying page changes, while Yahoo! and MSN users are less forgiving, perhaps because they feel the results displayed are less relevant. This isnt too hard to believe considering he gave an example of searching for New York Pizza on MSN and NOT getting pizza places but getting news about pizza in New York.

Personally, I too have experienced this, especially with MSN. It seems to have more of a problem determining what types of verticals are relevant to the searcher.

Bob Carilli was up next and presented a case study on how effective verticals have been for one of his clients.

Through some analysis they found that Froogle shopping results were showing up a lot for his clients competitive keyword terms, yet the Froogle listings were unoptimized.

They responded by creating a data feed for Froogle which was optimized to target these great phrases which had poor Froogle listings. As a result, his clients site quickly moved to the top of the Froogle listings for those phrases. While it is unclear, I would assume this would have translated into similar top rankings in the Google area where Froogle is displayed.

This also shows that, as search marketers, we shouldnt rely solely on Bristol SEO or PPC. There are dozens of verticals out there we could tap into if we had an open mind.

If you look at Google alone, there are opportunities in Google News (with properly optimized press releases), Froogle, as mentioned above, Google Local, Google Base, Google Video and more. Similarly, with Yahoo! and MSN there are verticals to research. Both engines also have a shopping portal, as well as news, video and local results.

In the end, verticals could become the poor mans Bristol SEO tactic. If you cant compete organically and cant pay for top sponsored, perhaps you can optimize your product feed to appear ahead of all your competitors?

What is the Title Tag

The Title Tag is not a Meta Tag. The Title Tag is an HTML code that shows the words that appear at the top title bar of your browser. The Title Tag is not displayed anywhere else on the page.
It is these words or phrase that appears as the title of your page in the hyperlink listings on the search engine results. The users’ in-turn click on this hyperlink to go to your website from Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

Therefore, the significance of the Title Tag is evident as all search engines use the Title Tag to gather information about your site.

Syntax for the Title Tag is:

Head Tag
“TITLE Tag” Here you write the Title of your Page “Closed Title Tag”
Closed Head Tag

Useful Tips for Writing the Title Tag

The Title Tag plays a vital role in determining your site’s search engine rankings. One needs to pay attention to the words that appear in your Title Tag and the order in which they appear.

Title Tag announces the summary of the content appearing on the page. So In the Title Tag describing the content of the page.

You could put the product or service you are offering, in the Title Tag, instead of your firm or company’s name.

Most users search for specific products and services, not company names. If you do wish to include the site name, then you can add it at the end of the Title Tag. Having your most important keyword phrases towards the beginning of the Title Tag helps display your title in bold in the SERP (search engines results page).

Title Tags are also the text that gets captured when users bookmark your page.

Goggle usually reads about 90 characters of your Title Tag. So, leverage this length to cover prominent keywords relevant to the page. A common mistake webmasters make is to have the same Title Tag throughout the site. You must leverage different Title Tags for each page and customizing it depending on the content theme of each page.

The Meta Description Tag

The Meta Description Tag is an HTML code that allows you to give a short and concise summary of your web page content. The words placed in this Meta Tag, are often used in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP), just below the Title Tag as a brief description of your page.

In the Search Engine Results Pages, after reading the Title of the page, a user goes through the description of the page and decides whether she/he wants to go to your site or not.
It is therefore important that your Meta Description Tag is nicely composed describing your page offering while enticing the user to click on your listing.

Syntax for Meta Description Tag is:
Head
Meta name=”description” content=”Here you write description that covers the most important aspects of meta tags in relation to website optimization or Sheffield SEO.”
closed Head

Useful Tips for Writing Meta Description

Tag In case you have not provided any Meta Description Tag to your web page, the search engines try to make one for you, often using the first few words of your web page or a text selection where the keyword phrases searched by the users appear. If the Search Engine makes up a description by picking up text from your page, it is not necessary that the generated description would do justice to your web page.

The Meta Description Tag should be written in such a way that it interests the user, thus tempting her to click on the link to your site and visit your web page.

The Meta Description Tag needs to be kept brief yet informative. About 25-30 words description should do fine. Keywords and key phrases should be included in the Meta Description Tag, though care should be taken not to repeat them too often. Like the Title Tag, the Meta Description Tag should be different and customized for each page depending on the content theme of each page.

If you are the owner, operator or manager of an Internet based business enterprise, you likely understand the great importance of drawing customers to your business website. In this regard, you likely have heard of the term search engine optimization. With that said, while you may have heard of search engine optimization, you may not know precisely what is involved in search engine optimization. You may not precisely understand what is involved in search engine optimization.

In point of fact, search engine optimization is one of the most important concepts when it comes to the marketing and promotion of an Internet website or a business existing on the World Wide Web. If you have spent any time at all on the Internet, you understand the fact that different search engines are widely used by people who access the World Wide Web. By typing in a particular set of search terms into a search engine, a person is provided with a listing of website resources that are intended to be related to the terms that were being searched.

Understanding the basics of how a search engine works, you understand that in many instances a potential customer is drawn to your business website as a result of using a search engine service on the Internet and World Wide Web. Of course, people being people, the typical person tends to only pay attention to those websites that come in at the top spaces of a particular search engine search. Consequently, those websites that come in towards the top of a particular search are the same websites that are more frequently visited. (This is a particular important fact for an Internet based business.)

The benefits to having your business listed at the top of various search engine results generally translates into a major increase in traffic and revenue enjoyed by your business operation. Therefore, even if you find that you are spending some money to ensure a higher search engine ranking, the money you spend will be money well spent in the vast majority of cases. Truly, money spent on increasing your search engine ranking, money spent on Manchester SEO, oftentimes translates into bein a true investment in the financial future of your business enterprise. Indeed, such an investment may mean the different between your business showing a profit and your business not getting off of the ground. It may mean the difference between success and failure.

Liverpool SEO- Search Engine Optimisation. Over the last ten years SE’s (Search Engines) have become an ever increasing important factor in business promotion. The four major SE’s generate in excess of 700 million search queries a day, an outstanding fact that really emphasises the importance of utilising the potential reach of the Search Engine.

Over 75% of people now use the internet when looking to buy a product or service. Websites in the top 3 pages of the major search engines gain 90% of search engine traffic. Basically, if you have a website you need to be on the first few pages of the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Pages) to get the traffic.so how do you do this?………. Its not quite as simple as many people believe. I am constantly being asked ” I have just had a website built but do not appear on Google.” Well firstly type in the URL (web address) of your website, if you still do not come up then your site has not been indexed. If your website does appear then previously when you said “I do not appear in Google” what you meant is- you typed in a keyword (a word related to your product/service) and your website did not appear in the top few pages. To be honest, this is very unlikely to happen. Unless you are selling a very unique product with very little competition then your website is likely to be on page 23 or worse!

Everybody with a website would love to be #1 on google for their main keyword, but it takes time and effort. You need to optimise your website for the best chances of achieving this.

After crawling the internet using robots called “spiders”, the SE’s use a complex mathematical formula to “rank” websites on importance and relevance to certain keywords. These formulas are known as “algorithms”. Liverpool SEO describes the techniques that use a knowledge of how SE’s rank websites, to make alterations to a site so that it better “adheres” to the “algorithms”.

There are to main phases to the optimisation process- “on page” and “off page”. On page is the alterations that are made to the physical content of a website and the code that makes up each webpage. This includes intergrating keywords into areas of the site that the SE’s deem important. Off page optimisation is the process of building links to a website…… what this means is getting as many websites to have a link somewhere on their site to the site you are optimising. This is very important because a major part of SE’s “algorithms” is link popularity- the more websites that link to another, the more important it is considered by the SE’s and the higher up it appears in the SERP’s.

Of course there are many more technical issues involved with Search Engine Optimisation but i wont discuss these in this article.. One thing that you should remeber though when thinking about Liverpool SEO is that it certainly is not instant. Due to the way search engines work it may be several months before the friuts of your labour are seen, in the form of higher rankings.Google currently indexes over 8 billion web pages and the ever increasing size of the internet means that the SE’s certainly have their work cut out.

Many companies manage their own Liverpool SEO in house, this can work fine but be willing to put in the time to learn the technicalities. The “nity gritty” of it can be slighly overwhelming as it is quite a specialist, technical field.
